Proud We Care

Workstep

Workstep is a supported employment programme that assists individuals with a disability to find and maintain employment.

Workstep can also provide support to individuals who are already in employment, but who may be at serious risk of losing their job as a result of their disability. Structured support is provided to both the employer and employee through a development plan which is tailored to suit the needs of the individual. Any type of support can be considered, regardless of the occupation or the disability. Workstep can also provide individuals with the opportunity to learn, develop and improve skills and, if appropriate, to provide a stepping stone into unsupported employment.

Workprep

If you have a disability or health condition Workprep can help you to get ready for work. Workprep offers support through either a Personal Development Module, a Work Placement Module or both. The Personal Development Module consists of one to one support with an experienced Employment Co-ordinator who will help you to complete an Action Plan which is designed to prepare you for employment.

The Action Plan is individually tailored and can include:

Making Boxes

If you are not very confident, your Employment Co-ordinator will even attend the interview with you!  The Work Placement Module involves a period of short, unpaid work experience to help you decide what type of work is suitable for you.  It can also provide you with the opportunity to develop new skills such as customer services or team working, and in some cases, it can lead to paid employment.
